Sideways Riding

Balance and control on angled terrain

Why it matters

Riding across a slope — a hillside, a bank, an off-camber traverse — is a core cyclocross and MTB skill, and it's hardest when the surface is slippery and the wheels keep sliding downhill. Master it and your rider can hold a line and keep momentum on sloped sections instead of washing out.
