Masters categories are designed for older cyclists, providing an opportunity for them to compete with their peers. These categories are typically broken down into different age groups:

  • Master 1: This category usually includes cyclists aged between 30 and 34, or sometimes 35, depending on the specific rules of the organizing body. Master 1 riders are often highly experienced and may have competed in the Elite category previously.
  • Master 2: Cyclists aged between 35 and 39 (or 40) generally fall into the Master 2 category. Riders in this group maintain a high level of competitiveness and physical fitness, often balancing their cycling passion with other life responsibilities.
  • Master 3: This category is for cyclists usually in the age range of 40 to 44 (or 45), offering a competitive platform for those who continue to train and race seriously while managing the challenges and responsibilities of middle age.
  • Master 4: Cyclists in the Master 4 category are typically aged 45 and above, sometimes with further subdivisions for older age groups. These riders bring a wealth of experience and a continued passion for the sport, often serving as role models for younger cyclists in terms of endurance, skill, and sportsmanship.
